ZippyAssist now supports a native Coupon refund method. Instead of sending money, you can refund a customer with a coupon or vend code from your own payment or machine system — ZippyAssist delivers the code to the customer by text and keeps a record of it on the refund request.
Setting it up
Add Coupon as a refund method from your Refund Methods settings, the same way you'd add any other method. Once enabled, customers can select it when choosing how they'd like to receive their refund.
Issuing a coupon refund
Open the refund request as usual.
When you approve the request, enter the coupon or vend code you want to send.
ZippyAssist texts the code to the customer and logs it on the request, so there's always a record of which code was issued.
Customizing the message
The message sent to the customer can be customized, and supports a :coupon_code token that is replaced with the code you entered. Make sure the token is included in your message so the customer receives their code.
Note: A coupon code is only required when the refund is being disbursed as a coupon. If you choose to reimburse the customer via a Reversal instead, no coupon code is needed.
