Overview

The Notices & Announcements feature allows users to display important notices and announcements to customers. These messages can be configured to appear based on set criteria and can be targeted to specific pieces of equipment. This guide will walk you through creating, managing, and displaying notices and announcements effectively.

Creating a Notice or Announcement

To create a new notice or announcement, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Notices Tab with Customer App Settings

    • Click on the Add Notice button to create a new message.

  2. Enter Notice Details

    • Name: Provide a meaningful name for your notice (e.g., "Scheduled Maintenance").

    • Type: Choose between:

      • Notice: More prominent messages that may require user attention.

      • Announcement: General information or alerts.

    • Title: Provide a short and clear title.

    • Content: Write the message content that end users will see.

  3. Set Start and End Time (Optional)

    • Define when the notice should begin appearing and optionally set an expiration time.

  4. Choose Visibility Options

    • All: Displays the notice to all users.

    • Targeted: Allows filtering based on specific criteria.

  5. Apply Targeting Rules (Optional)

    • If targeting is selected, define rules such as:

      • Asset ID

      • Account Name

      • Location ID

    • This ensures only relevant users see the notice.

  6. Enable and Save

    • Toggle the Enabled switch to activate the notice.

    • Click Create to save.

Managing Notices & Announcements

Once created, notices appear in a list where administrators can:

  • Sort & Filter notices based on type, start date, and status.

  • Edit or Delete existing notices as needed.

  • View expired notices and edit or turn back on as needed.

Viewing Notices & Announcements (Customers)

Customers will see active notices on their interface:

  • A list of active notices is displayed in a dedicated section.

  • Clicking View opens a pop-up with notice details.

  • Customers can dismiss the notice by clicking Close.

Best Practices

  • Use clear and concise messaging to ensure users quickly understand the notice.

  • Set expiration times for time-sensitive announcements.

  • Target relevant machines to avoid unnecessary alerts for unaffected users.

By leveraging the Notices & Announcements feature, you can keep your users informed about important updates efficiently.
